It's possible! We still think things like that to this day. We think we don't sing, dance, photograph, write, dress or whatever like someone else so we neglect the talent or skill that we do have with the intention of making an excuse as to why instead of facing the fact that we feel like what we have is not enough.
But if we realize that God actually does exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask think or imagine then we will also realize that using what He has given us He can multiply it beyond measure. It's funny how in the process of using one talent we "stumble" upon another talent or gifting that we never knew we had. Why? Because God is a multiplier. If you use what you have in your hand He can and will multiply it because He delights in the prosperity of His servants.
The end of the parable shows the Master upset with the servant because He did absolutely nothing with what He was given. Really if I was the Master I would have been upset too...the Master entrusted the servant with the talent and his lack of action landed him in a terrible place. So are we talented for no reason or talented for a reason that consists of ourselves, others & the One who created us, the Master?
*The parable can be found in Matthew 25:14-30
