3 things you need to become GREAT

I have this NAGGING belief that most people innately have a strong desire to succeed and do great things in life. There are accomplishments and awards that haven't been given to us but yet have our name written on it! I have never accepted my current circumstances as the indication of my future. I'm not sure about you but when I see others living out their dreams and being great I become even more convicted to live out my greatness!  I know most of our personal circumstances or our childhood did not show us anything that would indicate that there is a better life to be lived BUT there are techniques or even secrets that we can put into action that will allow us to rewrite our situation and draw out our future. 

The biggest thing we can do is commit ourselves to God and after that there are three things that I believe are key to achieving high levels of greatness.

1.     Imagination: When we were children we were told, “use your imagination”. As adults that statement is rarely used but it should be.  Our imagination is this powerful, unseen force that allows us to paint a picture of what could be.  The difference between those that have achieved success in their life and those who haven’t is that they have learned how to use their imagination to see themselves at a better place, living the life they desire.

2.     Goal setting: You have to know what you want before you can get there.  Before you can pack up and move from your current zip code, you have to know what your new zip code will be!  We should have an outline of what we want out of life within the next 1 year, 5 years and 10 years in order to give ourselves a “path to walk on”.  Life has a tendency to throw curve balls and if you don’t know where you’re going you’ll get side tracked. But when your goals are written down and at the center of your focus there’s no way to get side tracked.  Vision boards (a collage of pictures of your goals and dreams) are great tools to keep you focused and on track to greatness!  They're also a great point at which you can let your imagination run wild!

3.     Confidence: When a person lacks confidence they lack the wherewithal to take on challenges, face their fears and walk within the unknown.  When a person has confidence they are willing to take on challenges and face unfamiliar territory because they know they will be successful.   I personally cannot depend on confidence within myself but rather I depend on a confidence in God.  My confidence in God comes from knowing that He has my best interests at heart and that no matter how bad a situation is He can & will work it out for my good.

There’s a level of greatness that many do not get to because they are held back by negative feelings and doubts of whether or not they deserve a great life.  Essentially you are blessed to be a blessing.  When you have confidence in God, that confidence literally screams out “you cannot fail”!  Because of that, the world becomes your oyster.

These three things make all the difference in the world between being mediocre and being great.  I’ve seen some miraculous things take place in my life that exceeded what I could have dreamed of.  I know I couldn’t have done it within my own abilities; they were a combination of using my imagination, goal setting and having confidence [in God].

Since I still make sure to implement all these things I know there are more miracles getting ready to take place.  I hope you will implement them as well and when you do I’ll see you at the top!

The SHIFT has begun...

Ever since the 2013 Glamour Girl Women's Conference with the theme titled 'Graced for Exploits', the underlying understanding of grace has been lingering within me. 

Many people characterize grace by phrases like "oh by the grace of God Ill be there" or "That was a close call, thank God for grace". They're true statements yet leave so much out from the power Gods grace. 

I believe grace is accurately defined as Gods divine ability through your ability, unmerited favor and blessings. It is by faith through grace we are saved so that no man can boast. 

Grace gives you the privileged of doing life with God and flowing with Him in such a way that makes your life effortless!

LIFE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SO HARD! God doesn't want it that way. Will there be trials? Sure but Jesus overcame them for us already! Again effortless living. Working in the grace of God in your life will do several things:

1 guide your life 

2 give you clarity 

3 walk closer & more intimately with God

4 push out the funny stuff (no kooky Christian stuff just the purity of God)

5 filter through your voice, the enemy's voice and Gods voice (who's voice is prevalent?)

6 give you an overflowing life 

The how to is the part you have to understand. As simple as it is it's yet the most challenging thing we're asked to do: pay attention. When God is expressing His grace through you He's not going to blow a whistle at you or put up a billboard that says "GRACE RIGHT HERE". No. You will know by the ebbs and flows, the rhythm by which your life is moving. But if you're not paying attention you'll keep enforcing what you think ought to be happening when there's no grace for it. 

The good life in God. The great life is to walk with God. 

The supernatural life is to live in grace. 

 2014 is the year of exceeding grace!

Melt that belly fat...4 tips for QUICK results!

Summer is here yet you're still trying to figure out a way to get rid of some stubborn fat. No problem hautemama (that's what I call myself) is here! I call myself the way I see myself and I see myself as a haute mama ...which leads me to my quick fat busting secrets:

1. See yourself smaller. 

You cannot pay attention to the lying vanities or situation that is in front of you. What size do you want to be? How would you like to feel when walking up the stairs? Speak those positive and affirming words over yourself and you will see a shift in your mindset. Whatever your mind sees will be what you experience. 

2. Go on a fast. 

Now real fasting involves prayer and spending one with God but this fast is to refrain from eating ANY kind of sugary foods. That includes putting sugar in your coffee. Sugar packs on pounds especially soda pop. Refrain from it for 21 days and you'll see a massive difference! (Why 21 days? 3. Jump rope. 

They are inexpensive. They are simple. And they work! While you're watching your favorite hour long show (for example Scandal) during the commercials get up an begin to jump rope. Most commercial breaks during a 60 minute program is a total of 30 minutes. If you jump rope every time you see a commercial you are essentially doing a 30 minute workout! Do that 3-4 times a week and see that beach body emerge. 

4. Drink plenty of [lemon] water. 

I understand that most people don't drink water because it has no taste but when you squeeze some lemon or lime juice into the water it makes it tasty. Water flushes out toxins and other unnecessary particles within your system. And with all the fat burning you'll need something to cool you down. 

Greatness Tip: 

As much as I know these fat busting secrets will help you for quick results I must be honest; taking care of your temple is a year around job. You must decide I make a lifestyle change in order to achieve the true results you want.  Your objective should be to have a beach body YEAR ROUND!

The power is in your hands

The other day I saw and quote (and even posted it to my Instagram account) that moved me and pointed out to me a very strong belief I have.  The quote said "Life has no remote control, if you want it changed get up & fix it".  Uh hello!  That quote is self explanatory yet poignant in its message.

Get up and change your life if you want it to change!  Don't settle for what life has "given you", the experiences you've had, the lack of love, emotional bonding or affection you didn't get from those who mattered most...that is the past and the future is ahead.  If you don't like what you see in your life right now you have the POWER & AUTHORITY to change it!

I'm sure people thought the Apostle Paul was being braggadocios when he made the statement "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!" And who cares if they did think he was braggadocios!?  He wanted out of that situation and he called on the POWER & AUTHORITY that is above every situation, any circumstance and the solution to every problem CHRIST!!

The Bible says Christ IN YOU the hope of glory!  The Word of God in you is alive and thriving waiting for an opportunity to MOVE! Arise, get up and change your life. Walk in faith and look to the Author and Finisher of your Faith. Call on the great power that is within you...the same power that rose Christ from the dead!

No wonder Christ said He came that we would have life and have life in abundance...you've been born to change the world GO DO IT!

Overcoming trauma...

First of all I want you to know that during the trauma (beatings, molestation, rape, mental and emotional abuse, incest, etc) God heard your prayers Psalms 116:1. Many times people feel that during the trauma when they called out to God for help that He should have struck down the person that was perpetuating the trauma. But He didn't and because of that they assume that God didn't hear their prayers or their crying and thereby must not care about them or what they're going through.

This world is full of all sorts of evil. After sin entered the world evil was permitted to romp around and cause havoc in the lives of all who live. The theif comes to steal [your peace], kill [your spirit] and destroy [your destiny]. By receiving Christ we are able to reverse the effects of sin in our lives.

Think of it this way; lets say its raining outside.  When it rains it rains on everyone no one is excluded.  But if you grab an umbrella and proceed to walk out into the rain with the umbrella (especially the really big ones that fit 2 or 3 people in it) you will not get wet.  That is what receiving Christ does for you.  [Figuratively] Christ is the umbrella and He keeps you from being drenched with rain [sin, the curses of life].  Because you are alive and living on the earth it will rain no matter who you are but with Christ you can pass through the rain without any signs of being in the rain.


What does all of this have to do with your heart breaking experience? It has everything to do with it.

In essence, everybody no matter if they are rich or poor, black or white, in a third world country or an advanced country goes through tough times.  Notice in the latter stated example the rain continues to pour because its everywhere. But you still have a lot of choices to make.  You can decide to use the umbrella or not, you could choose to realize that you are not excluded from going through difficult situations or not and you could also choose whether to remain stuck in that situation or not.

I do not mean to make light of your situation but I must say this...what may have happened to you does NOT have to define you. What the enemy of your destiny meant for harm God wants to use it for your good. (Romans 8:28).   Many would think to themselves, "God should have not let it happen in the first place then He wouldnt have to use it for my good". Vaild thought but it did happen, you can't erase time but you can move forward.  Why not move forward with God?! Why not allow Him to open His umbrella of love over you to shield you from the rain that continues to pour?

How would God do that, you may ask? He will start by healing your heart and your soul of the pain, torment and anguish of the situation and begin to transform that pain into a monument. Of course you will have to work together to accomplish this.  He will never force you to do anything you dont really want do.  After you begin the process of healing and receive healing, the proof of your ability to move forward is being able to use what was meant to tear you down and keep you away from your purpose in life for helping others to move forward.
